Cafetos de Segovia – Nicaragua
ORIGIN
Soft and charming coffee from the family-owned micromill in northwestern Nicaragua. Cafetos de Segovia is owned by sisters Ana and Martha, who took over the farm from their father and subsequently established a production facility where their own and their neighbors' coffee is prepared and exported.
Specialty coffee in Nicaragua has generally been challenged by various factors (especially lower elevation and leaf rust epidemics), but Cafetos de Segovia is committed to growing high-quality coffee and continuously investing in larger micro-lot production.
This coffee is grown in the highlands, surrounded by pine forests. The city of Nueva Segovia is also known as La Ciudad de Los Pinos, “the city of pine trees”.
